Fantom
Performance matters.
Fantom is another L1 protocol, another “Ethereum Killer”.
It is EVM compatible, and can also support other subnets (apps can run their own compatible blockchains). It is similar to Avalanche, but younger.
They recently launch an incentive program for developers. So more apps will be coming.
Tokenomics
The total supply of Fantom (FTM) tokens is 3.175 billion, while a total of 2.6 billion (as of 2022 Feb) are currently in circulation.
The rest of the tokens will be unlocked through staking, with an APY of up to 14%
How to buy Fantom on mainnet?
Being relatively new, it is hard to buy on Fantom mainnet. While many exchanges support FTM, they do NOT support transferring them on Fantom network.
You will need bridge from Spooky. For example, if you have USDT on Polygon, you can bridge it to Fantom.
Then you can swap to FTM. However, swap requires gas fee which is paid in FTM. This is a chicken-and-egg problem, solved by a gift
