Crypto.com cuts Jade card cashback and Level Up benefits again
Crypto.com is cutting its card benefits again.
I received an email informing me that my Jade Green card cashback will fall from 3.5% to 2.5% on 1 September 2026. But the cashback rate is only one part of it: the eligible spending cap is being reduced, airport lounge visits are being halved, foreign transaction fees are coming to Jade cards in Singapore, and even the reward on legacy locked CRO is being cut.
Small reminder: despite how we casually call it a “credit card”, the Singapore Crypto.com card is a prepaid Visa card. The cashback is also paid in CRO, so its eventual value can move with the CRO price.
My Jade card, before and after
Here is what the changes mean for my Jade Green card in Singapore.
| Jade Green / Royal Indigo benefit | Before | From 1 Sep 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Cashback on eligible spending | 3.5% for my boosted cohort | 2.5% |
| Monthly spending eligible for full cashback | US$2,500 | US$1,500 |
| Maximum monthly cashback | US$87.50 | US$37.50 |
| Complimentary Priority Pass visits | 4 per calendar year | 2 per calendar year |
| Foreign transaction fee | 0% | 0% on first S$1,200 per month, then 2% |
| Inactivity fee after 12 inactive months | S$5 per month | S$6 per month |
| Legacy CRO Lockup reward | 4% | 3% from 10 Sep 2026 |
That US$1,500 figure is a spending cap, not US$1,500 of cashback. At 2.5%, the most you can receive is US$37.50 of CRO a month. Spending after that earns nothing under the terms sent to Pro cardholders.
My cashback rate is currently 3.5% because Crypto.com gave cards issued between 6 November 2024 and 1 September 2025 an additional first-year reward. Its published rewards page lists 3.5% during that first year and 3% afterwards.
So not every Jade holder starts from 3.5%. A standard 3% Pro holder falls from a maximum of US$75 to US$37.50 a month, exactly a 50% cut. For my 3.5% rate, the maximum falls from US$87.50 to US$37.50, a 57.1% cut.
Cashback cuts across the card tiers
Crypto.com is sending different notices depending on the card tier, cohort and market. These are the changes disclosed in emails to affected prepaid-card holders so far, including notices shared by Jade and Ruby holders and Icy/Rose holders.
| Level Up plan | Previous reward | New reward | Previous full-rate spending | New full-rate spending | Maximum reward at new full rate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plus (Ruby) | 2% | 1.5% | US$1,250 | US$750 | US$11.25 |
| Pro (Jade/Indigo) | 3%, or 3.5% in the boosted first year | 2.5% | US$2,500 | US$1,500 | US$37.50 |
| Private (Icy/Rose) | 4% with no spending cap | 3.5% on the first US$3,000, then 0.5% | Unlimited | US$3,000 at the full rate | US$105, then 0.5% beyond the cap |
Ruby’s maximum monthly reward drops from US$25 to US$11.25, a 55% cut. Icy and Rose don’t completely stop earning after US$3,000, but the rate collapses to 0.5% beyond it.
Crypto.com’s public rewards page still showed the old US$1,250 Plus and US$2,500 Pro spending caps when I checked on 2 August. For the incoming cashback figures, check the email sent to your account and the Level Up screen in the app. Apparently updating the marketing pages can wait. The nerf cannot.
New foreign transaction and inactivity fees in Singapore
The fee changes are already listed on Crypto.com’s updated Singapore card fees and limits page.
| Singapore card tier | Foreign transaction fee before 1 Sep | Foreign transaction fee from 1 Sep |
|---|---|---|
| Midnight | 0.5% | 2% on all foreign transactions |
| Ruby | 0% | 0% on first S$600 per month, then 2% |
| Jade / Indigo | 0% | 0% on first S$1,200 per month, then 2% |
| Icy / Rose / Obsidian | 0% | 0%, no announced change |
This fee applies to purchases and ATM withdrawals in a foreign currency. For Jade, a foreign purchase after using the S$1,200 monthly allowance would earn 2.5% in CRO but cost 2% in foreign transaction fees, leaving roughly 0.5% before considering CRO price movement or the exchange rate used.
The inactivity fee also rises from S$5 to S$6 per month. It applies after 12 months without a cardholder-initiated financial transaction, and continues monthly until activity resumes. Declined and refunded transactions don’t count as activity.
Priority Pass is also halved
From 1 September, Pro members outside the EU, UK and LATAM will receive only 2 complimentary Priority Pass visits per calendar year, down from 4. Crypto.com’s Priority Pass FAQ confirms that unused entitlement isn’t prorated and the annual allowance resets on 1 January.
| Level Up plan | Before | From 1 Sep 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Pro (Jade/Indigo) | 4 complimentary visits per year | 2 complimentary visits per year |
| Private (Icy/Rose/Obsidian) | Unlimited visits for member and 1 guest | Unlimited visits for member only |
Pro members can still pay for guests or extra visits. Private members lose their complimentary guest, with each guest visit costing US$35 or US$38 depending on the lounge.
The date is different for EU, UK and LATAM users. Their lounge changes take effect on 1 October 2026 instead.
Legacy locked CRO rewards fall on 10 September
This part is separate from card cashback. It is the annual reward paid on CRO locked or staked to retain a Level Up plan.
Crypto.com defines “legacy” holders as people who applied for a Ruby Steel card or above before 6 November 2024. Singapore isn’t listed among the markets eligible for on-chain Level Up CRO Staking, so Singapore holders will generally see a CRO Lockup instead.
| Legacy CRO Lockup tier | Until 9 Sep 2026 | From 10 Sep 2026 | Reduction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jade / Indigo | 4% | 3% | 25% |
| Icy / Rose | 8.5% | 5% | 41.2% |
| Obsidian | 9% | 6% | 33.3% |
Rewards are paid weekly to the CRO Wallet. Crypto.com’s Level Up rewards page has the exact cutoff at 9 September 2026, 11:59pm UTC.
If your app says CRO Stake or Staking instead, the rate is validator-based and described as an estimated APY. Crypto.com currently lists up to 4% for Jade/Indigo and up to 6.3% for the Private tiers, less its service fee.
What isn’t changing in this announcement
There is no newly announced reduction to the free overseas ATM allowance. For Singapore Jade/Indigo cards, that remains S$800 per month, with a 2% fee above it.
The Spotify, Netflix and Truth+ rebates also aren’t part of this September change. Pro users receive them for 6 months after joining Level Up, while eligible Private members retain them without that time limit. These aren’t the permanent Jade rebates many of us remember from the old card program.
The effective date also depends on where you live. Singapore and most non-European markets move on 1 September, while emails and the lounge FAQ put EU, UK and LATAM changes on 1 October. Read the notice sent to your own account before relying on someone else’s screenshot.
We’ve seen this movie before
Back in May 2022, Crypto.com first proposed cutting my Ruby Steel cashback from 2% to 0.5%. After the backlash, it settled on 1% and introduced monthly caps. I wrote about that first card rebate cut and later made a full summary of the June 2022 changes.
Then came the end of the ongoing Spotify and Netflix rebates for Jade, Indigo and Ruby holders.
I switched much of my spending to the Jupiter Global card when it launched with 4% cashback. That lasted until July 2026, when Jupiter also reduced its base rate to 2%. The 4% rate now requires 2 qualifying referrals each month.
This is why I no longer value a crypto card by its headline cashback alone. A company can lower the percentage, shrink the spending cap, add fees and remove travel benefits while your CRO remains locked.
Crypto.com isn’t making one small adjustment here. For my Jade card, the maximum monthly cashback is being cut by 57%, lounge visits by 50%, the legacy CRO Lockup reward by 25%, and foreign spending beyond S$1,200 now attracts a 2% fee.
I’m not locking up more CRO based on the promise that today’s benefits will still exist next year.
